A room with a view

I got my room situation sorted out last night. They managed to extend my stay till the 5th of August. Perhaps they crammed more mainlanders into one room to make space for me. Who cares, they'd be used to it. Here's some pictures I took in the morning

I want my mummy!

The omens all point to a horror trip! Here's a list of all the shit that went wrong on the way here.

Flight got rescheduled to include a trip to Cairns, adding 3 hours to the trip
I sat amongst 41 seppo teenagers who were on some glorified scout camp (http://www.studentambassadors.org/)
The man next to me snored
The TV in my seat only had half a screen
I left my iPod usb cable at home so I couldn't watch the movies I'd downloaded onto it
My travel agent screwed my hotel booking so I didn’t have a room
And my singapore noodles dinner on the flight was cold.

Someone shoot me now.

Honkers is a lot nicer than when I remembered. Either I slummed it the last time I was here, or the pace of development has been rapid. You don't even have to squat in the toilets any more!! Hallelujah. It's about 30 degrees and 99% humid. And the smell…it's so….equatorial. Anyone who's been to Hong Kong, Singapore or Indonesia knows what I'm talking about.
Tonight, I'm headed off with the SAP guys for dinner. I'll see if I can swing a free meal off them, that'll make management proud.

Wired

It's only an 8 hour flight, but I've got enough electronics gear in my bag to keep me entertained
for days:
  1. The obligatory ipod
  2. Nintendo DS Lite + Mario Kart.
  3. Canon Digital camera
  4. Mobile phone
  5. Dell Laptop
Hopefully there will be a few others on board the flight who have a Nintendo DS as well and we can hold a tournament 10,000 feet up in the air!
